EL6002 is an EL6xxx series terminal manufactured by Beckhoff. This terminal weighs approx. 55 g, and operates at a temperature range of -25 to +60 degrees Celsius with data transfer rates of 9600 baud.
Information About EL6002
The EL6002 serial interface enables the connection of devices with two RS232 interfaces. The devices connected to the EL6002 EtherCAT Terminal communicate with the automation device via the Coupler. The active communication channel operates independently of the higher-level EtherCAT system in full duplex mode with 300 baud up to 115.2 kbaud. The RS232 interfaces guarantee high interference immunity through electrically isolated signals.
The EL6002 is an EtherCAT terminal that represents both high utility and cost-effectiveness. It can operate in diverse environments in temperature ranges between -25 and +60 degrees Celsius (storage temperature needs to fall between -40 and +85 degrees Celsius). Power is supplied via E-bus for its operation and the terminal weighs approximately 55 g. In addition to having high immunity to EMC, the system has a high shock and vibration resistance. The vibration resistance standard conforms to international standards that are used to gauge a system's sensitivity to shock and vibration.
The terminal uses a D-sub technology and has absolutely no line impedance. The system's design also protects it against penetration of solid objects up to 12 mm. In order to make the configuration process easy, no address setting is required at the beginning. The EL6002's E-Bus consumes only 170 mA current. If you want to use the Virtual Serial COM Driver, then a license is available as an additional feature. By using the EL6002, the user can connect devices with up to two RS232 interfaces. Overall, the EL6002 proves to be a feature-laden platform that can be used in conjunction with a variety of interfaces.
